Rheumatology
Sometimes joints, bone or muscle pain is severe or persists for several days. If that happens, your primary care provider may refer you to our rheumatologist for tests and additional care. Rheumatology is a specialty of internal medicine that focuses on diagnosing and treating arthritis and other diseases of the joints, muscles and bones.
Many types of rheumatic diseases like osteoporosis, gout, fibromyalgia or lupus are not easily identifiable in early stages. Our rheumatologist is specially trained to discover the causes of swelling and pain. It’s important to determine a correct diagnosis early so that appropriate treatment can begin as soon as possible. Our rheumatologist will work closely with you to identify the problem and design an individualized treatment program.
