Critical Care
Bothwell Regional Health Center offers critical care on a continuing basis for patients in a medical or surgical crisis. Critical care maintains a 2:1 patient to nurse ratio, and all nurses are specially trained in critical care. A critical care nurse is a licensed, professional nurse who is responsible for ensuring that acutely and critically ill patients and their families receive optimal care.
Immediate family and close personal friends are allowed to visit nearly 24 hours a day at the nurses’ discretion. Visitors are not allowed between 6:30 and 8 am and 6:30 and 8 pm, and visitors are limited to two people at a time. There is a direct-line telephone in the Critical Care reception area so family can communicate directly with staff.
