Cancer Care

Bothwell’s nationally certified specialists at the Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center provide exceptional patient-focused care with effective clinical outcomes. Empathetic, caring and compassionate nurses, therapists and physicians work to provide the best cancer care possible.

Bothwell Regional Health Center’s medical oncology and radiation services are centralized for the patient’s convenience, allowing all patient needs to be met in one place. This focus on the patient and family allows our nationally certified physicians, nurses and therapists to work with each patient on an individual plan for cure, control or comfort care.

Bothwell Regional Health Center’s Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center is located on the east side of Bothwell Regional Health Center in the Canon Center. For more information, e-mail info@brhc.org or call (660) 829-7792.

Medical Oncology

Oncology is the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cancer. Medical oncology involves the use of medications, such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormones and analgesics, for the management and treatment of the disease. At Bothwell, we are early adopters of medical treatments to effectively and aggressively fight cancer.

Bothwell’s medical oncologist specialists offer patients the same treatment available in larger cities but right here close to home. Bothwell has a dedicated oncology pharmacy located within the Cancer Center for greater efficiency and patient safety. For more information on our medical oncology services, e-mail info@brhc.org or call (660) 829-7792.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy is used to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. About half of all people with cancer are treated with radiation therapy. Radiation therapy may be used alone or in combination with other cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy or surgery. Bothwell Regional Health Center uses some of the most advanced medical technology available to treat patients by focusing on the affected area only. In some cases, a patient may receive more than one type of radiation therapy.
