Resident Seminars
Residents are given dedicated learning time each Tuesday afternoon to attend a half day of didactics at the University of Missouri with the Family and Community Medicine Residency program. A three-year curriculum covers the broad scope of core family medicine topics, including sports medicine, POCUS, procedures (suturing, toenail removal, circumcisions, skin biopsies), public health, and quality improvement. The third Tuesday of the month is devoted to a Theme Day, during which one key area is explored in depth. Each Theme Day has a case-based lecture, a procedure workshop, three interactive stations, and board review. Every month with a fifth Tuesday, residency faculty in Sedalia host an afternoon dedicated to wellness.
Grand Rounds
Grand Rounds is held at noon each Wednesday at the University of Missouri. Faculty members from the University of Missouri Department of Family and Community Medicine, faculty from the medical school, and third-year residents present cutting-edge clinical topics.
