Stretching Your Health Care Dollars seminar March 7
The Bothwell Foundation’s Community Relations committee will host a free Stretching Your Health Care Dollars seminar for Medicare recipients at 11:30 am March 7 at Bothwell Education Center.
Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people 65 and older as well as disabled enrollees who meet specific criteria. The seminar is for those receiving Medicare and/or caring for someone who receives benefits to learn more about programs available to assist with drug and Medicare costs. Attendees will hear from a skilled professional from Missouri SHIP – State Health Insurance Assistance Program. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers at the end of the presentation.
Cliff Callis, Community Relations chair, said the committee hopes to empower people with valuable insights on ways to save when it comes to Medicare and prescription drug costs.
“Nearly 1.3 million or 21% Missourians are enrolled in Medicare, which is why it’s so important to educate the community on all the program has to offer,” Callis said. “Our committee is dedicated to providing resources that enhance health care experiences at Bothwell, including cost-saving techniques within insurance. A Missouri SHIP expert will share insights and provide a list of available programs that assist with drug and Medicare costs.”
People interested in attending the free seminar should register by March 4 by contacting Lauren Thiel-Payne, Bothwell Foundation executive director, at lthiel@brhc.org or 660.829.7786.
