Bothwell physician recognized in Missouri business magazine
Dr. Robert Frederickson, physician at Bothwell Family Medicine Associates, was named to the list of “50 Missourians You Should Know” in the August issue of Ingram’s Magazine, a leading business publication in Missouri and Kansas.
Ingram’s Magazine began featuring Missouri’s most innovative and influential leaders on a list in 2011 and this year marks the 14th edition. According to information from the magazine, the list is determined by personal nominations and internal research of eligible candidates to ensure a broad cross-section of Missouri businesses and their leaders.
Frederickson is from Versailles, Missouri, and was raised in Eldon. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has been on Bothwell’s medical team since 1984 after being recruited to Sedalia by Dr. T.J. Hopkins.
Frederickson said he was surprised to learn he had been named to the annual list of Missouri notables.
“I didn’t at all expect to land on this list of esteemed people from across the state,” he said. “My passion from the beginning of my career has been to treat patients with respect and dignity, care for them throughout their lives and advocate for everyone to have access to a family doctor.”
Frederickson was the first director of the Bothwell-University of Missouri Rural Family Medicine Residency. The program started in 2019 and is designed to teach and train new physicians who want to practice in rural communities.
Bothwell’s CEO Lori Wightman said in addition to his skills as a family medicine physicians, Frederickson has been a leader in recruiting new physicians to the area.
“There’s a tremendous amount of respect for Dr. Frederickson from his patients, his peers, our Bothwell family and the community,” she said. “We’re so proud of his dedication to caring for generations of patients and working diligently to leave a legacy of care to others. It is no surprise to us that he is being recognized this way.”
Frederickson is joined on the list by business executives, nonprofit leaders, high-level thinkers in education, entertainment and sports stars, and more. The August edition of Ingram’s Magazine can be found online at https://ingrams.com/publications/.
