Bothwell Auxiliary to host Ice Cream Social Sept. 12

The Bothwell Auxiliary will host an Ice Cream Social from 4-7 pm Sept. 12 in the southwest parking lot at Bothwell Regional Health Center. The event is open to the public.

Jackie Butler, Auxiliary president, said the all-volunteer group is excited at the return of the fund-raising event that supports Bothwell programs and services.

“We haven’t hosted the ice cream social since before the pandemic,” she said. “It’s always a great time to gather together, enjoy some sweets and support the wonderful people who work at our health center.”

In addition to desserts, there will be a variety of food trucks including Mallard’s Smokin’ Bar-B-Que, Talagio’s Pizza and Dick’s Corn Dogs. Activities include free kids face painting, a balloon artist, a free-will donation cake walk, 50/50 raffle, a Gift Shop sidewalk sale, and a raffle for a Ninja Creami, which is an ice cream and frozen treat maker.

Event and raffle tickets are available at the Bothwell Gift Shop located on the first floor of the hospital, from an Auxiliary member or at the event. Event tickets are $5 and include ice cream, dessert and a drink; children ages 5 and under are free. Ninja Creami raffle tickets are one for $5 and three for $10, and the drawing will be held at the event on Sept. 12.

People interested in donating baked goods for the event should contact the Bothwell Volunteer Coordinator at 660.829.8855 or lnakagawa@brhc.org.

Bothwell Regional Health Center is located at 601 E. 14th St. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the Café on the hospital’s ground floor.
