Bothwell Foundation Donates Funds to Area Hospices in 2018
The Bothwell Regional Health Center Foundation recently presented grants to two hospices to help them better serve the needs of terminally ill patients and their families.
The Bothwell Foundation, which works to develop private resources to improve access and the quality of health care in the area, presented grants of $555 each to the Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation and Benton County Hospice. The grants were made from hospice-specific donor funds that the Bothwell Foundation oversees.
“Because these funds are from donors, we want to ensure we continue to use them as the donors intended,” said Lauren Thiel, director of the Bothwell Foundation. “The Foundation Board of Directors adopted a policy specifying that each year we will make a grant to the hospice or hospices serving the majority of patients from this area. It was stipulated that the funds have to be used to benefit local patients.”
“We are very thankful for the generous donation from the Bothwell Foundation,” said Lynn Parkhurst, Physician Liaison with Crossroads Hospice. “The donation from the Bothwell Foundation will benefit the Pettis County community. Crossroads Hospice will use this donation to provide support of community organizations, healthcare providers, and caregivers who are involved in end-of-life issues and who support grief resolution.”
“We hope these grants will help Benton County Hospice and Crossroads serve patients and their families at a time when they need it most,” Thiel said.
