Hospitalist Program

A hospitalist is a physician who sees patients only while they are an in-patient at the hospital. Hospitalists provide in-patient care for patients who either do not have a physician or are patients of a physician who does not provide care in the hospital.

Our hospitalists are internal medicine specialists who are available to respond immediately to the needs of a referring colleague, a hospitalized patient or a family member. The hospitalist also stays in close contact with the referring physician for better coordination of care. When patients are discharged, they will be referred back to their family physician or to a practice accepting new patients.
