Susan O'Brien Fischer Cancer Center Reintroduces Cancer Support Group
SEDALIA – The Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center at Bothwell Regional Health Center has reintroduced the cancer support group High Hopes.
The High Hopes Cancer Support group is designed to help patients and their caregivers cope with cancer and live more effectively.
“We are pleased to offer this support group again to the residents of our community affected by cancer,” said Oncology Services Director Jason Sharp. “We saw the need for patients to have an atmosphere that provides for open dialogue on topics such as understanding medications and the physical and emotional changes that are part of living with cancer.”
The High Hopes Cancer Support Group meets at 4:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the Susan O’Brien Fischer Cancer Center on the ground floor of the Canon Center for Cancer & Cardiovascular Care.
The next meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. on April 19 in the Cancer Center. Nancey Dove will share the story of her journey.
