Bothwell to conduct Safe Sitter classes in July
Sedalia, Missouri, June 26, 2017 — Bothwell Regional Health Center (BRHC) will conduct Safe Sitter babysitting education classes on Thursday, July 13, and Saturday, July 22. Both classes will run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Bothwell Education Center, 600 E. 14th St. in Sedalia.
If your child is in grades 6-8 and is ready to enter the world of babysitting, this class is designed for them. The Safe Sitter Program is a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and will teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.
“Our Safe Sitter Program will get your child ready to enter the world of babysitting,” said Melissa Boeschen, community outreach coordinator at BRHC. “The one-day course helps them to be safer and more confident caregivers.”
Students in the class will learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant. Cost for the class is $35, which includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.
Preregistration is required and due, along with payment, by July 6 for the July 13 class and by July 15 for the class on July 22. Please call 660-827-9138 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Class size is limited.
