Bothwell to conduct Safe Sitter class on June 2
Sedalia, Missouri, May 17, 2017 — Bothwell Regional Health Center (BRHC) will conduct a Safe Sitter babysitting education class from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2. The class will be in the Bothwell Education Center, 600 E. 14th St. in Sedalia.
If your child is in grades 6-8 and is ready to enter the world of babysitting, this class is designed for them. The Safe Sitter Program is a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and will teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.
“We have had a great response to our previous classes,” said Melissa Boeschen, community outreach coordinator. “If your child is ready to enter the world of babysitting, make sure he or she is fully prepared by attending our Safe Sitter Program. The one-day course will help young people be safer and more confident caregivers and give them the resources they need to succeed.”
Students in the class will learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant. Course materials are designed for children in grades 6-8. Cost for the class is $35, which includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.
Preregistration is required and due, along with payment, by May 29. Please call 660-827-9138 or e-mail email@example.com to register. Printable registration forms are available online at www.brhc.org/brhc_education_safesitter. Class size is limited.
