Bothwell offers opportunity for a career in healthcare
Sedalia, Missouri, May 16, 2018 — If you’ve ever thought about entering the growing medical field but didn’t think you had the necessary education or training, Bothwell Regional Health Center might have just the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
If you have a high school diploma or equivalent, you can apply for an unlicensed assistive personal (UAP) position at Bothwell. As a UAP, you will work as a patient support technician, and previous health care experience is not required.
“These full-time positions are an excellent opportunity for those who want a career in the growing health field,” said Stacie Robertson, Bothwell nurse recruiter and educator. “We also have part-time positions available that let you have some control over your schedule.”
UAPs provide basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs, observing patients to ensure their safety, helping patients with personal hygiene needs, assisting patients with walking, and performing clerical and administrative duties.
Once hired, UAPs must pass an online course for $100 at their own expense. They also must participate in a four-day paid training class as part of their condition of employment.
The next UAP course is June 7-8 and June 14-15. The deadline to apply is May 18, and enrollment is limited. Call 660-829-7785 to learn more.
