Bothwell Leadership Academy Graduates 13 Health Care Leaders

Bothwell Regional Health Center recognized 13 health care leaders who graduated from the hospital’s second Leadership Academy on Jan. 9.

Bothwell Leadership Academy was created in 2017 to help employees meet their full potential as leaders within the hospital organization. Over a year period the students were selected to meet monthly to develop and enhance leadership skills including conflict resolution, coaching, team-building, employee engagement and performance management. The program was led by Sandy Brown, a leadership development specialist and owner of The Employer’s Resource, based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Each graduate received a meal, graduation certificate and a gift from the hospital to commemorate their accomplishment. Rose McMullin, interim CEO at the hospital, addressed the group and presented the gifts. “All of these people are leaders in their own right, and this program is a way to push them a bit farther and enhance those skills they already have,” McMullin said. “I’m really proud of this group and appreciate all the extra work they put into the academy this year. We’re hoping that it pays off for the hospital going forward.”

The graduates were Amber Allain, Clinic Site Director; Janet Bombella, Women’s Health; Marc Dougherty, Radiology; Sherri Egbert, Emergency Services; Rachel Harris, Patient Financial Services; Mary Holloman, Human Resources; Lesley Jackson, Emergency Services; Kathy Johnson, Perioperative Services; Michele Laas, Critical Care/Progressive Care; Maggie Schaffer, Case Management; Kara Sheeley, Radiation Oncology; Hannah Stemberger, Patient Financial Services; and Jennifer Unkel, Quality Management.
