Bothwell Announces New Leadership Team Members

Dr. Phil Fracica            Steve Davis              Rose McMullin

SEDALIA, MO — Bothwell Regional Health Center has announced additions to its Senior Leadership Team. The new members include Chief Medical Officer Dr. Philip Fracica, Chief Financial Officer Steve Davis, and Director of Patient Services and Interim Chief Nursing Officer Rose McMullin.

“We need to make sure we have the right leaders in the right positions as we move this organization forward,” said Bothwell President and Chief Executive Officer Jimmy Robertson. “We have renewed our focus on improving the experience patients and their families have every time they interact with us, regardless of whether that is in the hospital, in the Emergency Department, or in one of our out-patient clinics.
We also are strengthening the commitment we have to our employees and our physicians because we know they are the backbone of this organization.”

Dr. Philip Fracica joined Bothwell as its first chief medical officer (CMO) in November. He brings more than 18 years of physician leadership experience and most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ. Prior to that, he was the chief medical officer at hospitals in Texas and in St. Joseph, MO. Dr. Fracica is triple boarded in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.

“Dr. Fracica brings a wealth of patient care and physician leadership experience to Bothwell,” Robertson said. “I’m pleased to have him join our team and look forward to his involvement in strategic initiatives involving our physicians and quality of care.”

As CMO, Dr. Fracica will be the primary liaison among providers and hospital leadership, helping to communicate and share information regarding quality initiatives and documentation.

Davis and McMullin each have more than 30 years of experience with Bothwell.

Davis, of Sedalia, joined the hospital as a cost accountant in 1985. He has been director of Budget & Reimbursement and has served as director of Finance for the past year. He is responsible for the hospital’s budget, financial statements, revenue cycle, payroll and accounts payable. He is a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and has an accounting degree from the former Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.

“This is my town, and my hospital of choice for my family,” Davis said. “Every day we take care of either someone from my family or someone I know. I want to make sure we continue to provide the excellent care we always have.”

In the newly re-established role of director of Patient Services, McMullin will oversee all aspects of in-patient nursing care at Bothwell and will work with physicians for better coordination of patient care. She also will oversee the patient care coordinators who supervise in-patient and Emergency Department care.

“I’m excited about this new role because I feel like it brings us back to the basics of focusing on providing our patients with the best possible care,” she said.

McMullin, LaMonte, began working at Bothwell as a nurse assistant in 1982. She has held multiple nursing positions throughout the hospital, including director of the 2 Southwest medical/surgical and short stay nursing units, director of the Critical Care and Progressive Care Units, and director of Case Management and Social Services.

McMullin has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph and a master’s degree in health service management from Webster University in Kansas City. She is the daughter of the late Mary Jo McMullin, who was a Bothwell nurse for more than 40 years and served as chief nursing officer for 10 years.
